A Gift of Hope for Our Endangered Wildlife.
Right now is a critical turning point for Western Australia's unique and endangered native wildlife.
601 species of Western Australia's plants and animals are listed as threatened with extinction, and the status of many others is unknown.
After over a decade of campaigning by CCWA for stronger wildlife protection laws, the State Government has finally committed to rewriting the 1950 Wildlife Conservation Act.
That means we have a real and immediate opportunity to defend, recover and protect critically endangered species such as the numbat and black cockatoo.
But industry lobbyists are already working to delay the changes and to retain the exemptions and loopholes that are driving our wildlife to extinction.
It is critical that that we work together to ensure new wildlife protection laws are effective. For some species, like the numbat and black cockatoo it is the last chance we will get to secure their survival.
As Western Australia's peak environment group, CCWA has been around for 45 years.
We have achieved a lot, but we can't do it without your help.
Please give a gift of hope to our endangered wildlife and donate now.
