Sydney Community Services are overjoyed to be the recipients of the goodwill and generosity of The Mamas and The Mamas Community Choir.
The Mamas & the Mamas will be presenting “All you need is LOVE is all you need” concert on Sunday 5th November 2017 at St Joseph's College Hunters Hill. All funds raised will go to the SCS Seniors Hub Music Therapy Program.
Music has a unique power to enable connection and expression in people of all ages, especially for older adults living with dementia. The language of music is still alive even when spoken words have been long gone.
Our facilities and tools need updating for us to provide our frail aged clients with fulfilling, stimulating and nourishing experiences while attending our Seniors Hub programs. We wish to create an enabling environment that promotes independence and supports well-being.
The money raised through “All you need is LOVE is all you need” concert will be used to purchase tools such as quality sound and home entertainment system as well as music and calming sound and visual installations that are specially developed and elected for older persons. We are hoping to fund Sing Out Loud program which is a cost-effective program that brings specially trained maestros into aged care settings. The Program has proven to reduce agitation, enhance cognitive abilities and foster interaction and self-expression. Our staff will receive a tailored training which will enable them to continue to bring the music into our clients' lives.
