ACP’s Under the Sun: Reimagining Max Dupain’s Sunbaker, is an audacious exhibition of new works commissioned from 15 artists responding to Australian photographer Max Dupain’s iconic Sunbaker image. Artists include Peta Clancy, Christopher Day, Destiny Deacon, Michaela Gleave, Nasim Nasr, Sara Oscar, Julie Rrap, Khaled Sabsabi, Yhonnie Scarce, Christian Thompson, Angela Tiatia, Kawita Vatanajyankur, Daniel von Sturmer, Justene Williams and William Yang.
We invite you to join us by making a donation to ensure that Under the Sun becomes a significant milestone for photography and contemporary art in Australia. Supporting the Under the Sun project is a bold, new way of sharing something that speaks to us now, and to future generations, of this time and place. The exhibition Under the Sunwill be presented at Mitchell Galleries, The State Library of NSW in Sydney from 18 February until 17 April 2017 and Monash Gallery of Art in Melbourne from 6 May until 6 August 2017.
Under the Sun will affirm the Australian Centre for Photography’s leadership in the presentation and support of Australian photographic and photo media artists.
The ACP also welcome general donations toward our 2017 program of activities.
