The Beauty Bank Australia Inc

Jen Armstrong, named NSW Woman of the Year 2016, founded The Beauty Bank in 2013.  This was because, as a victim of domestic violence prior to and while she was pregnant with her second child, she decided enough was enough and left the marriage whilst six months pregnant.  She left with a toddler and the clothes on her back.  Jen found herself needing assistance and received a parcel of goods for the children from Dandelion Support Network. In this parcel was a small gift of basic toiletries and a brand name body wash - just for her - and that is how The Beauty Bank had its beginning.

What do we do?

As we look on every pamper pack as a gift, they only contain full size, new, unopened, in-date product. Once we have sorted and packed the goods, they head off in a number of directions.  They are distributed through private and government agencies with some for inclusion with Dandelion's packs, others go to various women's refuges around Sydney, some go to other charities.  All go to women, men and young people in need due to leaving a domestic violence situation, homelessness or other reason.  We have received feedback in the past from recipients about how wonderful it was that the act of a complete stranger could lift their spirits and remind them that there is hope for the future.
