Contemporary Asian Australian Performance (CAAP)

CAAP 2021 EOFY Campaign

CAAP has become a national cultural leader in producing and presenting contemporary Asian Australian stories on stage. We are the only professional live performing arts company dedicated to making exceptional contemporary Asian Australian work for all audiences - with CAAP productions having been presented at major festivals across Australia, and generating interest internationally.

Our projects, programs and initiatives develop, nurture and champion artists to take their place on main stages across Australia and the world.

Their diverse and complex stories come from uniquely personal experiences but resonate with many.  Our professional development initiatives have directly led to an increase in Asian Australian performers, playwrights, directors and other theatre artists employed by main stage theatre companies - including Sydney Theatre Company, Belvoir and Griffin Theatre Company.

Your support this End Of Financial Year will make our work in 2021 and beyond possible.

Your end of financial year donation will assist CAAP in continuing to make new works, provide career pathways for Asian Australian artists, and advocate for greater cultural diversity in the performing arts - including supporting us to:

  • develop and premiere a new contemporary Indonesian shadow play – Perahu-Perahu – with acclaimed Indonesian-Australian visual artist, Jumaadi, and CAAP Artist, theatre maker and composer, Michael Toisuta;
  • tour Double Delicious to audiences around Australia;
  • continue our Longhouse and Longhouse Goes Global programs - with the latter seeing us engage and gain a deeper understanding of the international landscape with our colleagues in China;
  • continue our research and develop a pilot program through our community engagement and audience development initiative ENGAGE! - deepening connections between Regional Venues and their communities.

Thank you for choosing to support CAAP - and for choosing to elevate the stories and voices of a diverse Australia.
