Eat. Share. Connect. GIVE.


It's simple! Just host a lunch or dinner for friends, with colleagues, at your workplace, community association or social media group and ask each guest to donate. They get to enjoy a night of delicious food, great company, conversation and fun, whilst raising funds to support CARAD's clients. Your options are endless … pick a cultural theme or choose dishes from around the world; you can cook yourself, get everyone to bring a dish or cook together; set a donation fee for guests to attend, or just ask them to donate whatever they wish!

We are launching this exciting initiative as part of Refugee Week, Sunday 18 June to Saturday 24 June 2017, but will be running the campaign as a permanent CARAD fundraiser.

The funds raised through this initiative will go towards our winter fundraising appeal to help CARAD raise $12,000.  CARAD is receiving an ever growing number of referrals for our Emergency Relief Program. In recent months, the demand for support has nearly doubled. The program provides rent assistance, emergency accommodation, and medications. In addition to these, one of the essential services we offer are food vouchers which we give to clients so they can purchase items which are not available through our Foodbank Program.

This campaign is based on our Eat. Share. Connect. Program. It's a weekly community lunch prepared by CARAD clients (asylum seekers and refugees) and members of the CARAD community. It aims to bring our CARAD community together to create meals and share stories whilst developing valuable long-term relationships. Becoming part of a real and supportive community is paramount to the integration of our newest members and 'Eat. Share. Connect.' is a step in the right direction. 

The program has been so successful that we are sharing it with you! CARAD's food connects people, and FOOD is CARAD's one common language, and now we are asking YOU to embrace food and culture with your community and host an 'Eat. Share. Connect. GIVE.' fundraising event.

Each kit includes fundraising tips and a recipe booklet to help you host a successful event. Once you've registered we will even set up your own fundraising page for you on Give Now.
