Coppélia Production Campaign

Ballet Theatre Queensland survives on box office sales and volunteer labour alone. But in order to present the professionally staged production of Coppelia at the Payhouse, QPAC in January 2022, we need more help.

Therefore, we invite you to be part of the creative process, by supporting the design and production of the beautiful sets and costumes for Coppelia with a one-off donation.

The set has been designed by Bill Haycock, renowned for his innovative designs for dance and theatre, including for the past five BTQ productions. Coppelia has three distinctive sets – the vilage square, inside Dr Coppelius' toy workshop, and outside the vilage church – each rich in its detail.

Costumes designed by the remarkable Carmel Wenck will complete the visual feast on stage. The rich golds, reds, and greens of the villagers' traditional dress, will contrast with the sparkling blue and whites of the diamante scattered tutus for the Dance of the Hours.

Become an essential part of this wonderful creative process and support our production of Coppelia. Here is what your donation could support.

$25 - 2 kg sequins and seed beads, or 3 cans of spray-paint for props

$50 - trim and crystals for one tutu, or material for one small set piece

$100 - Paint to cover Coppelia's cottage

$200 - Set decoration eg French urns, lattice, hedging

$250 - material for one tutu
