The textile industry's wastewater worsens the river ecosystem in Bali.
An "invisible" threat to human and environmental health is continuing on without resolve in Bali, Indonesia - toxic chemical pollution from industry. Unfortunately, Bali is already suffering a water shortage so protecting what resources they do have is crucial to their recovery. If we don't change the Industry we'll keep cooking our Planet!
Corethics has actively developed an innovative solution.
Waste4Wealth is a Corethics initiative, one that no other organisation is working toward. We hope to not only shine a light on this issue but also use evidence based approach to solve water pollution. Working with local partner Kopernik, we are able to engage key stakeholders, undertake much needed (and missing) research, design and implement affordable and appropriate technology to treat wastewater from small cottage factories in the Denpasar area in Bali. Our long term vision is to reuse water and to extract byproducts like fertiliser and biogas to provide revenue for local communities.
Donate today and help us to:
1. Pilot appropriate technology to treat wastewater
2. Recycle the water for reuse
3. Promote circular economy through byproduct extraction
4. Support 60 factories in the Denpasar area and 240 factories across Bali with a goal of extending out across South East Asia
As of June 30, 2023, we have raised $11,687 out of our $30,000 goal. This contributed funding has significantly supported our project. We extend heartfelt gratitude to all donors for their invaluable contributions.
Your donation will power what comes next.

Corethics acknowledges the indigenous cultures of the world across some 90 countries. We recognise their connection to land, waters, plants, and non-human species, and their wisdom of custodianship passed down through generations. We pay our respects to elders past, present, and emerging and recognise that sovereignty was never ceded. It is our commitment to raising the voices of indigenous peoples in international development.
