COTA NSW is the voice of seniors over 50. Donations to COTA (NSW) will help us provide the vital information, advice and services that help older people throughout NSW. We aim to foster a society where seniors are respected, consulted, included, represented and heard. We work with government, business, the media and the wider community to represent the aspirations, issues and concerns of seniors.
How will the funds be used?
As a peak body, we provide leadership in social policy and community information and education for all older persons in New South Wales and Australia.
To do this, we need funds for:
- Policy development, representation and advocacy
- Informing and educating older persons and all those concerned with their welfare.
- Promoting sound leadership and innovation in order to ensure that older Australians and their families have the best opportunity to enjoy a high quality of life.
- Providing educational programs which include Healthy Ageing Talks & New South Wales Seniors Peer Education Centre (SPEC)
- Brokering, referring, collaborating, coordinating, and networking among seniors organisations and services to seniors
- Informing public debate and policy by identifying, addressing and clarifying new and developing issues.
- Promoting dissemination of knowledge among members through research, member exchanges and other activities.
- Enhancing and increasing the involvement of indigenous Australians and those with a culturally and linguistically diverse background, in particular, in the overall governance, leadership, operation and activities of the COTA (NSW)
