Boozeless July for Djirra

Djirra

Supporting Aboriginal women's safety and wellbeing

Anyone who knows me knows I love to get on the beers. Or the wines. Or whatever.

This month, I'm going sober - while the Dry July foundation is of course a worthy cause, due to the current state of the world and spurred on by what I've learned about Australia's history during this period, I feel strongly that it's high time for me to give a little something back to Australia's First Nations people.

Djirra is a community run charity in Victoria that provides legal and non legal services to Aboriginal women struggling with family violence, in a culturally safe environment. The work they do is imperative in protecting Aboriginal women from violence while promoting wellbeing and healthy relationships, while preserving culture and promoting systemic change. Councilling services and cultural workshops are also offered.

Please give what you can! Every little bit counts :)
