Nicholas is walking for Rhino Rangers

Supporting Save African Rhino Foundation

Save African Rhino Foundation

Black Rhino Conservation and Management in Zimbabwe

I am raising funds for Save African Rhino Foundation, an organisation I co founded 33 years ago, and have been its president for the past 31 years. Due to a total lack of tourism, there has been no revenue for wildlife reserves for the last 6 months, with the consequent difficulty of paying ranger wages. Led by TUSK Trust (Prince William's wildlife charity) and Scheinberg Relief Fund, grants have been made to a number of reserves and conservancies, including our main project, Save Valley Conservancy. In return, we are all asked to support their Wildlife Ranger Challenge on 3 October. The participating rangers will be running a 21km half marathon, and others are invited to walk 5 or 10km.

In all my years as president i've tried to lead from the front - 22 fundraising dinners, more than 50 safaris and plenty more, raising more than $12 million. Our group walk will be in Perth, but for the last 8 weeks I've been caring for my 97 year old mother in London, so will be walking here.  i'll be joined by my god daughtes Rebecca and Sarah, and our patron David Gower.

It really will be a challenge as I've not walked 10 km for more than 50 years! Please will you support the rangers by sponsoring me for $30 or so, which will then be further matched by Scheinberg.  Thanks very much.

Also, I would be very grateful for you to share the link to this CrowdRaiser page to your friends and family. The more people who can help the better!

Thank you

Am more than delighted for you Nicholas, so many years of hard work. Congrats on your personal effort. Having watched David Attenborough's A Life on our planet, it emphasises the urgency.
