Icon Water have been partnering with Domestic Violence Crisis Service ACT for a number of years with the aim of helping Canberrans be free of domestic violence. The difference DVCS have made to the lives of so many people is extraordinary and we know there are so many others that would benefit from their work. But they need more funding to make that happen.

So this year, we’ve decided to step our support up a notch and we need your help!

A number of our Icon Water employees have committed to the Great Shave including our very own MD, Ray. We’ve also set up a CrowdRaiser so that you can donate to this very important cause too. Every dollar makes a difference and contributes to ending domestic violence in the ACT. Team Icon Water consist of the following staff, Matthew Quirk, Marcus Singh, Shaan Nariman, Trond Antonson, Galani Dube, Ray Hezkial and Romano Gaspardis.

Where does the money go?

• Emergency accommodation ($180 per night for a single person)
• Mobile phones and credit for those who have none or whose phone has been damaged or compromised 
• Meal packs and groceries for those staying in emergency accommodation ($250 for a phone and credit)
•  Security upgrades such as lock changes, security screens on windows/doors, personal alarms, house alarms and CCTV (from $500 to $15,000)
• Support Groups for women and children who have been impacted by domestic and family violence (1 person at all sessions = roughly $1,500)
•  School holiday picnics for women and children who we are supporting in our programs (1 event = roughly $2,000)
