KPMG and The BLK Foundation fundraiser

Fishing remains a key tradition for the Tiwi Island people with the Tiwi Islands offering some of the best fishing experiences in the world.

In 2016, in conjunction with Tiwi Island Adventures (TIA) and Shimano, the Tiwi College Project expanded their program for getting Tiwi College students job ready by launching a Junior Fishing Guide Program.

This program now sees up to five young Tiwi College students working on TIA's fishing boats gaining vital experience, learning the roles and responsibilities of a fishing guide.

The program has been hugely successful with many of TIA's paying fishing guests electing to take up the option to have a Tiwi Island student on their boat.

This program allows the students to enhance their skills in fishing charter boat management, knowledge of the Tiwi water systems and share their stories with guests enhancing their confidence to enter employment post College studies.

Andranangoo&, a film produced by Nicholas Reygaertfor Australia's Rise fly fishing Film Festival, portrays the magic of Tiwi fishing and the Junior Guide Program.

We thank you for your kind donation, 100% of the proceeds of which will go to supporting the Tiwi College Project Junior Guide Program.
