The Motor Neurone Disease Association of Queensland Inc. receive limited recurrent funding and rely heavily on small grants and community support to enable us to continue providing the following services.
Information - MNDAQ provide information and education about MND, current news about research being undertaken and resources. Bi - monthly all members are kept informed with the MNDAQ Newsletter containing current information and news about MND, helpful hints and articles.
Support - Via telephone MNDAQ offers directions and advice for people living with MND but most importantly provide that caring link to remove the feeling of isolation.
Equipment - Living with MND, equipment and disability aids will become necessary in the future to enable them to maintain their independence and communication within the community. MNDAQ provide equipment for as long as they need it at minimal cost for advanced equipment.
About Motor Neurone Disease (MND):
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is the name given to a group of diseases in which the nerve cells - neurones - controlling the muscles that enable us to move, speak, breathe and swallow undergo degeneration and die. MND is an uncompromising disease, indiscriminate and brutal. The cause is unknown and there is no cure.
As the symptoms of MND increase, the level of care needed to remain at home also increase. Families need to adapt to the constantly changing levels of disabilities. They need physical and emotional support. They need community acceptance.

What will the funds be used for?
Donations will be used for the purchase of equipment aides, to support our Regional Advisor service and the production of updated information to support and enhance the lives of families living with MND
