Tweddle is a statewide early intervention and prevention health service. Our purpose is to provide support to families during pregnancy and with children from birth to school age. Tweddle offers interventions to infants, children and their families to promote the restoration of health and wellbeing where there is distress and disruption in the infant-parent relationship. Families that turn to us are often facing one or more complex issues such as mental illness, drug and alcohol dependency and domestic violence. Our role is to strengthen parents' capacity to nurture, build parenting confidence and develop attachment skills.
Imagine a young child struggling to connect with their parents, facing a home filled with stress and uncertainty. This is the reality for over 4,000 families Tweddle supports each year.
Tweddle is their lifeline. We provide crucial early intervention and prevention services, empowering parents to build nurturing relationships and secure healthy futures for their children. But we need your help.
Tweddle employs maternal and child health nurses, midwives, perinatal psychologists, social workers, early childhood professionals and registered nurses. Key areas of expenditure include providing resources for families and training our health professionals to provide therapeutic interventions.
