Within Australia there is a growing economic class. It is made up of willing older workers who cannot obtain employment and suffer poverty and isolation. Their plight is mostly hidden from public view. Many are not counted amongst the unemployed and do not qualify for government benefits. They are all proud people who, through no fault of their own, are now struggling emotionally and financially.
Why are we collecting funds?
To make life easier for mature-aged, unemployed workers and their families.
How will the funds be used?
To provide practical, much-needed support in the form of:
- Weekly food hampers
- Advocacy
- Job-ready seminars, workshops and courses
- Retraining opportunities
- Emotional support
- And more!
