Recently you may have seen that EDV received an extension of our COVD-19 funded programs. This means that in-demand services such as free Telehealth Counselling, Online Support Groups, Carer Coaching, Telehealth Nursing and the SE-ED program can continue for a further 12-months.
While this is good news for the thousands of Victorians who benefit from these services, internally here at EDV we face another 12-month cycle of funding uncertainty.
What does this mean?
It means that we can’t offer our staff contracts beyond June 2023.
It means that we can’t keep developing our programs to make them more accessible to more Victorians.
It means that we have to spend time and resources on advocating for funding, when we’d rather be focusing on delivering life-saving services.
Although we hesitate in sharing our operational challenges, we believe that honesty with our community is important. And we need your support.
In the month of June, we ask that you consider a donation to EDV.
Your contribution will help fund the advocacy work required to secure long-term certainty for EDV and our community.
Your support will also mean that we can speak loudly for people impacted by eating disorders as we move through reforms in the Victorian mental health system. This includes the new Victorian Eating Disorder Strategy, which will take shape later this year.
The voice of EDV and our community has never been more important.
EDV has DGR status and all donations about $2 are tax deductible. With thanks for your trust and support.
