Echo Youth & Family Services

Support Communities in the Eastern Dandenong Ranges

Donations are used across our programs to assist people in need of support across the Eastern Dandenong Ranges in Melbourne.

Echo was founded over 30 years ago and our programs include youth mentoring, playgroups, emergency support, school chaplaincy, financial services and community outreach.

Some examples of our programs include:

Echo's core mentoring program over the past 17 years has paired trained adult mentors from the community with young people in high school who need assistance to travel through school and life successfully. We also offer an in-school mentoring program, where senior students are paired with a Year 7 or 8 student and they work on a project together.

Echo’s Emergency Support Team is a group of trained volunteers that are available to provide leadership and support directly following an emergency or major bushfire event in our region. It does not replace existing emergency response activities, but the objective is to play a key role in recovery efforts both before and after a disaster.

Another program essential during summer with the threat of bushfires across the Dandenong Ranges is Echo's 'Ready2Go', which helps vulnerable and isolated people remain in the community they love with the assistance of a trained volunteer who checks on them to ensure they are safe and hydrated on high heat days as well as evacuating them to a pre-planned location if they desire.

Thank you for your support.
