2018 LV Folio Scholarship - Alumni Charity Run

Raising funds to support a community leader to participate in the 2018 Folio Community Leadership Program.

By Dennis Banfield (FCLP'17) and Hugh Wareham (FCLP'17)

Last year, we had the privilege of completing the Leadership Victoria Folio Community Leadership Program (Folio).

On 25 February 2018, Hugh and I are competing in the “Victorian Road Runners’ Yarra Bend Fun Run 2018 a 6km – 12km event at Yarra Bend Park in Fairfield.

Our aim is to raise $1,000, which will go 100 cents in the dollar towards the $5,000 we need to fund the Folio Scholarship.

Leadership Victoria’s programs draw on the best leadership development research and practice from around the world (Heifetz & Linsky), situational leadership (Blanchard et al), and emotional leadership (Gorman et al).

The Folio program in particular takes a ‘deep dive’ experience for leaders inside and outside of the workplace.

Post the program we agreed we had an obligation to provide an equal opportunity for leaders in some of the not-for-profit organisations providing help to some of the most vulnerable community members that we had engaged with over the last year.

These organisations, including Wallara, Wintringham and Servant’s House just to name a few, provide vital ‘front line’ support and services for those less fortunate across our community.

Our obligation is to ensure we provide an equal opportunity for these organisations’ elite leaders to develop, improve and grow as leaders so the clients they serve and teams they lead can be, the beneficiaries of better leadership.

Please donate and help us give the gift of learning.

Thanks in advance,

Dennis and Hugh
