Team up with a charity that’s saving lives right in your own backyard.

Lifeline Northern Beaches is responding to the largest societal challenge we have seen in decades.

We are, as always, supporting people in crisis and at risk of suicide. Our services have never been so important as we support people overwhelmed by this crisis. We know that anxiety, loneliness, and sadly suicide will rise through this crisis.

March 2020 was Lifeline’s busiest month on record, currently experiencing a 25% increase in calls. We received 88,770 calls from Australians in crisis. Lifeline is now receiving over 3000 calls a day, of which 39% of our call have been COVID-19 related. That’s a call from an Australian in crisis every 30 seconds

The NSW Government has declared Lifeline as an essential service, which means that whatever type of lockdown applies, our staff and volunteers are able to continue to support the community by taking calls and answering texts, 24/7. We have moved our low cost clinical and financial counselling services to telephone and video support rather than face to face, for the weeks and months ahead. We are committed to being there for the duration of this crisis.

You can help save lives with a donation. Lifeline Northern Beaches relies on our shops, book fairs and fundraising events to maintain our community services: our phone, text and low-cost counselling services. We have had to close our retail operations and cancel our bookfair and fundraising events for the next few months. This is an economic threat to our services the like of which we have never seen. We understand that everyone is facing economic challenges, but this is one time you CAN make a difference.

Donate to our Emergency Appeal and you’ll immediately increase our capacity to provide lifesaving counselling and phone support services to people right here in our community. It costs just $27.96 to answer a call that could end up saving a life.

Every donation directly supports our core services: suicide prevention, counselling and financial counselling, and donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Please look after yourself and those you care for.  This is an uncertain time for everyone. Remember, Lifeline is here for you and yours – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please stay connected and stay well. Thank you in advance for your generous support.
