Giving Circle

We are now seeking Giving Circle renewals to support South Australia's finest early career artists.

COVID-19 has hit all artists hard. They’re seeing years of work vanish: events, performances and commissions cancelled, galleries closed, residencies withdrawn, talks and workshops abandoned or postponed indefinitely. Incomes have disappeared and without eligibility for financial safety nets, livelihoods are imperilled and careers stalled. This is particularly so for early career artists.

The Carclew Giving Circle is an annual donations program supporting investment in South Australian early-career artists, and building the vital cultural capital of the state. In 2020, Giving Circle donations will invest in our September grants round, providing support to young artists through Project and Development Grants and Fellowships.

Carclew’s career-defining Fellowships program allows young creatives working in any art form, to undertake a significant and self-designed program of professional development. Fellowship recipients have participated in masterclasses, residencies, internships and mentorships, or sought exposure to innovation and cutting-edge ideas. Project & Development Grants are offered to organisations and early career artists, for arts projects with a tangible outcome and/or skills and career development.

Project and Development Grants and Fellowships both respond to the ongoing needs of young artists. We always receive many more applications from talented young artists than we are able to fund. 2020 is likely to generate even more. With your assistance, Carclew can provide the critical support young South Australians need to revive their creative ambitions post the COVID-19 catastrophe.

Without investment in the artists of today, there is no arts industry tomorrow.

Carclew is a not-for-profit organisation with Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. 100% of your Giving Circle donation is tax deductible.

This is an annual Giving Circle. You can choose to purchase up to 10 years in advance (at $500 per year per individual). For instance a $1,500 donation provides a 3 years Giving Circle membership. We will carry over your membership to the corresponding number of years basis your contribution.

If you have any queries at all, or would like further information, please contact Lucy Markey, Senior Manager, Marketing & Development at or phone 0411 106 257.
