A stunning subspecies of the glossy black cockatoo has been driven close to extinction by the loss of it's chief food source, the drooping she-oak, as a result of land clearing and bushfires.
We're raising funds to restore damaged habitat and for the large-scale planting of drooping she-oaks in the bird's range on Kangaroo Island and on the Fleurieu Peninsulain SA. Your donation will help Conservation Volunteers Australia to propagate seedlings and revegetate critical sites on the mainland to create 'stepping stone' areas that will encourage flocks to move freely between remaining stands of she-oak.
