When children's lives are disrupted by family dysfunction, due to parental alcohol or drug issues, or abuse and neglect, it is increasingly common for the grandparents to take on the role and responsibilities of primary caregivers. Indeed, in Australia, over 54% of children "in care", are with their grandparents. These grandparents are often elderly, retired, and of limited financial resources. Among other services, GFGSA supplies small funding amounts to assist these already disadvantaged children to continue their education. These funds purchase books, uniforms, shoes and electronics, as well as sports activities, school camps, music lessons, and other items and activities that most children take for granted. This is an opportunity for you to help give a child a future. Any amount is very welcome, and all funds go towards giving kids the opportunity to be the very best they can be.
