Brady buys books for Kiribati kids

$

Recently, the Brady SRC were lucky enough to meet Sister Taabeia and listen to her stories of growing up on a remote island in Kiribati, what school is like for students today and about the living conditions and challenges.

We learnt that Kiribati schools are extremely short on resources such as books, with students often required to share one book between 5. Many of the books are outdated or not in the students' local language, limiting their ability to receive the education that they deserve. We decided we want to help by fundraising to provide new books for the children who attend the Good Samaritan Early Childhood Centre in Abakoro!

Another great way we can assist is by providing funds for the purchase of computers for the students coming to the new community centre that the Good Samaritan sisters hope to open later this year. This will mean the students (especially young women) have a safe and peaceful place to come to, where they can study and receive other supports.

These are just two ways that we can help to make a simple contribution to the people of Kiribati’s lives. Any amount you can contribute is greatly appreciated and will make a huge difference for this community.

Thank you for your generosity,

From all of us at Brady House SRC.
