Kiwanis-UNICEF Eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus

Why are we collecting funds?

Kiwanis and UNICEF are raising USD110 million globally to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus from the earth and save the lives of 129 million mothers and their future babies. The funding target is getting close and there are now 19 remaining countries suffering this deadly disease.

How are funds used?

Every 9 minutes a baby dies in a developing country from tetanus and every 20 minutes a mother dies from the same preventable cause.

This Eliminate program requires vaccines, syringes, safe storage, transportation, thousands of skilled staff and more. It is supported by the dedicated work of UNICEF and every member of the Kiwanis global family.

Australian public and corporate donations made to the Foundation are paid to the Australian Committee for UNICEF.

100% of these donations go to this program.

What can you do?

Donate to the Foundation where three 60 cents vaccinations will save a mother and her babies to help eradicate this deadly disease and boost maternal health and child survival among the poorest, most underserved women and children in the world.
