Little Habitat Heroes

Little Habitat Heroes was born by a group of new mums who met at a Mothers Group in Castlemaine in early 2016. We wanted to contribute to the restoration of the local environment as well as give our children the gift of a personal connection with nature. By working with Connecting Country we have the opportunity to regenerate up to 10 hectares on the east side of Leanganook (Mt Alexander).

2017 saw us plant 900 trees through generous donations of both money and time. We hope to continue this momentum into 2018 and beyond.

In Spring 2017 our Little Habitat Heroes, family and friends will get together for a maintenance working bee. While enjoying the site we'll be seeing how the plants are growing, checking guards and pulling out any unwanted weeds on the way.

All donations go towards:

  • plants
  • tree guards
  • planting equipment
  • ongoing maintenance
  • future events

The more you give, the more we can do!

$10 will cover the cost to get one tree in the ground and its on-going maintenance.

If you are donating on behalf of a special Little Habitat Hero please leave the child's full name, their parents name and parent's email address. This will help us identify and acknowldge each child who takes part.
