Oceanic Research Institute (ORI) Appeal for Donations

Oceanic Research Institute (ORI) is Australia’s only independent, CSIRO-Approved Research Institute for Ocean Science. ORI is also a Registered Australian Charity (ACNC) with ATO-endorsed DGR status meaning donations to ORI are fully tax-deductible.

ORI has three missions: Education, Communication and Field Research.

MISSION #1: EDUCATION - to educate Australia's 3.65 million students with a world class interactive Ocean Literacy Program.

MISSION #2: COMMUNICATION - to communicate through print and visual media the Ocean's influence on all life on earth.

MISSION #3: RESEARCH - to explore the Ocean's untold mysteries in traditional carbon-free sailing boats.

COVID UPDATE: As a result of the impact on global travel of COVID-19, we have re-ordered our research priorities. We are now focusing on Education and Communication, both being aspects of our long-term Research Program.

ORI is committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals and we will be active participants in the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) - to reverse the cycle of decline in ocean health.
