Parkinson's disease is the second most common neurological degenerative condition affecting Australians.
Parkinson's Queensland is a not-for-profit organisation that provides individuals, families and the health, aged and disability sectors with information, support and education. We also help fund research into a cure for Parkinson's and improved quality of life.
Services Provided
Parkinson's Queensland is proud to provide the following services:
- Support and information for people with Parkinson's, their carers, family and friends
- A network of close to 50 Support Groups
- Printed literature on new medications and possible drug interactions
- The Parkinson's Queensland quarterly Connections magazine
- A library and resource centre with online catalogue and mail-out service
- Seminars for people with Parkinson's and their families
- Free calls for country callers - 1800 644 189
- Educational services for health professionals and community groups
- Funding for and co-operation in local Parkinson's research
- Training and Education sessions at designated venues throughout the State (open to all persons, community, services, organisations, staff, residential/hostel care staff, allied health professionals, volunteers etc)
- Referral (Incoming/Outgoing), advocacy and support.
