Paws and Claws is an animal refuge operating in Far North Queensland. The refuge does not receive government funding but exists through the generosity of the community and supporters. The refuge maintains a "pro life" policy, no animal is euthanized unless suffering from a debilitating disease or has repeatedly attacked another animal or person and cannot be retrained.
To establish an Animal Care Centre providing a safe and environmentally friendly home for up to 50 homeless and neglected animals. This Centre will replace an existing animal refuge which is no longer able to meet demand. The Centre will also provide accurate information on the care of pets including desexing and micro-chipping.
The purchase of building materials and equipment for the rehousing of animals into the new Centre.
