In 2018, Parramatta had no auditioned symphonic choir.

Today, Parramatta boasts a choir of 66 passionate singers from across western Sydney and beyond, who meet each week under the expert guidance of Artistic Director, Dr Sarah Penicka-Smith, to realise the community's demand for large scale, innovative and culturally repsonsive artistic experiences and institutions closer to home.

Since 2019, and having survived the setbacks of COVID-induced restrictions and cancellations, River City Voices has delivered to and engaged with over 2,000 community members and artists through a broad range of unique and collaborative artistic programs, workshops, festivals, an album featuring talented neurodiverse singer/songwriters, and even national television appearances.

As a still emerging organisation, capacity building and sustainability are number one priorities.

In the short term, your donation, will help us to deliver our upcoming programs including:

• Public workshops to upskill people who love singing but can't read a note of music
• A December concert premiering newly composed choral works by participants in the 2023/4 Ngarra-burria First Peoples Composers Program
• Our April '24 concert reflecting on Cancel Culture exploring the works of some of history's popular but perhaps controversial composers
• A family "Proms"-style concert introducing young people to the joys and power of choral singing, through choral favourites with a chance to join in!

$50 helps boost our concert advertising

10 donors giving $100 secures our rehearsal venue for 10 weeks.

$250 pays to tune a baby grand piano for our concert - essential for excellent singing!

$1000 supports two professional concert musicians or key artist to augment our fabulous singers

$1500 delivers and provides that baby grand piano !

Major donations mean we can run some programs free for the public.

In the longer term, a successful campaign will ensure that we can continue to cement River City Voice’s position as a permanent cultural institution that contributes to Parramatta and supports its ambitions as a major cultural destination.
