2020 - Need for Feed

RDA Tasmania is a not-for-profit organisation. Income for our RDA Centres is financed entirely through rider’s fees, donations, fundraising activities and small grants. With the current COVID-19 crisis, like so many RDA Centres around the Globe, our Centres have had to indefinitely suspend their riding programs and planned fundraisers.

It costs around $3,000 per year to keep each of our horses fed and healthy. In 2020, we will have to rely even more upon the generous support of individuals and businesses to financially help our Centres to care for their amazing RDA horses.

We currently have a total of 16 horses at our Centres that need your help. We have a small team of dedicated volunteers that are ensuring that they are all fed and cared for so they are ready to go, go, go when it is safe to resume our riding programs again.

Some of these are our elderly retired horses. Over the years, they have given so much to our riders' enjoyment, health and well-being. For some we are fortunate enough to be able to provide a forever home for their retirement. But it does come at a cost for Centres as they are still paying for feed and health care.

What will your donation help with:

- feed (hay and hard feed like chaff and pony nuts)

- farrier for hoof care

- teeth care (usually done by a vet)

- worming paste

- ongoing vet care and any relating medical expenses

- purchasing and maintenance of rugs for winter

- purchase and maintenance of tack

So please give a buck, every little bit will help our NEED FOR FEED.
