State Schools' Relief Committee Inc.

State Schools' Relief General Appeal

State Schools' Relief (SSR) is a charity that coordinates with Victorian Government Primary and Secondary schools to provide new sport and school uniforms and footwear to disadvantaged students.

State Schools' Relief provides a free service without drawing attention to the students that receive help. Many students do not know they are receiving charity. The anonymity we provide acts in the best interests of students.

We support 10,000+ Victorian students each year by removing barriers to their participation in school (no uniform, no school) and supporting their success in education. Participation in education is the main way out of poverty and this pathway must remain open to every child.

How will the funds be used?

Donations from companies, individuals, foundations and schools fund the cost of the footwear and clothing; since 1930 successive governments have funded the administration costs, accommodation and salaries. This allows 100% of donations to impact positively on a child's life.

Key Areas of Expenditure

Purchase of stock (footwear and clothing)
Authorisations for students (parents/schools) to purchase footwear or clothing from the school shop or commercial outlet
Cost of couriering throughout Victoria
