From day one we've sought to find and publish what we believe is the most interesting, challenging and important work, publishing the writers and artists who deserve the platform, and we've then tried to make enough money doing this to continue on doing it. At TLB, profit has never been our goal: we've always been about culture, not commerce; we seek meaning, not money.

And yet we still need money to keep doing it all. It's expensive to print our magazines locally and sustainably! It's expensive to pay our contributors as fairly as possible! It's expensive running an established and growing not-for-profit organisation in this day and age!

Your donation will go directly to the costs of production of all we do: it will help us pay the significant printing costs of our magazine and our books; it will help us pay the contributor fees of those who make work for our magazine or our website; it will help us cover the myriad expenses we're constantly encountering, such as launch and event costs, postage costs, accounting costs, web hosting costs, general office costs, travel costs, and other costs. (Note: all staff at TLB are currently volunteers – your money will always go production and contributor costs.)

Any amount you can give is deeply appreciated by all us here at TLB, and is equally appreciated by our contributors and our readers. Donations over $100 will be recognised on this website unless you choose to remain anonymous.
