Since 1936, Uni Camp For Kids has provided a dependable annual calendar of positive experiences for the most socially, emotionally, and/or financially disadvantaged children of Perth. Our mission is to impact the long-term mindset of seriously at-risk children by offering two key elements for a healthy childhood: rewarding childhood experiences, and exposure to positive personal relationships, role models and social interactions.
What we do:
With support from our generous network of donors, we work to improve the overall wellbeing of these at-risk children. We provide 2 to 3 annual week-long Summer camps and 4 day-long picnics during the year for over 1,000 children. We cater for children aged 5-12 and form familial-like relationships with each child throughout their primary school years. This fosters a warm, familiar environment that children in out-of-home care are often deprived of. Our Picnics and Camps serve as much-needed distractions from their difficult circumstances and provide respite to families and carers.
How you can help:
We are very proud to continue operating at no cost to the families involved. Whilst all the money we fundraise goes directly to supporting our charity, this only funds part of our work and these costs continue to increase. The cost of camp accommodation, transportation and food in particular present a huge challenge for us.
