West Australia is under renewed pressure from the nuclear industry to open the door to uranium mining. While the Federal and State Governments are willing to take the risk of a radioactive future, unions, public health, environment and human rights groups, indigenous communities and people in regional areas close to uranium deposits are deeply opposed to this.

We need to support those people, who are faced with the long term realities of the nuclear industry and help to prevent a toxic future.


In WA the industry is just about kicking down the door to make WA the world's uranium quarry and radioactive waste dump and yet WA has the potential to become a global leader in sustainable energy production - it's time to shift our focus to renewable and leave the nuclear industry behind. Money won't last forever but radioactive waste will.

Please give what you can to make our activities during this critical time possible:


• $100 will produce a radio ad and $1000 will get that ad played 20 times
• $110 will post letters to every State politician in WA
• $210 will print 700 A3 colour posters to advertise protests and events
• $480 will buy a vinyl banner to use on billboards
• $800 will cover one community person's travel, food and accommodation to attend the annual West Australian Nuclear Free Alliance meeting in April 2011. We are trying to get up to 60 Aboriginal West Australians from areas where there is uranium exploration activity to come and meet other people facing the same threats and to meet experts to help inform and educate on the issue of uranium mining, radiation and the environment
• $1,000 will post information packages to 200 remote communities in WA
• $2,000 will print 2000 information booklets
• $3,000 will pay for a billboard for 3 months
• $5,000 will pay for 10% of a campaigner's wages for a yea
