The Western Australian Blind Golf Association is dedicated to supporting the playing of golf by those with visual impairment in Perth and Western Australia as a whole.
We organise golf events on a weekly basis with games at courses throughout the Perth metropolitan area. Social gatherings are usually combined with a game of golf. In addition, we hold an annual Open Golf Championship and facilitate our members to play other national and international tournaments.
What do we do?
The Western Australian Blind Golf Association's sole objective is to assist vision impaired and blind people to enjoy a better quality of life.
Why we make a difference
The benefits are enormous - from getting out and socialising with others to having the chance to enjoy the fresh air. Some enjoy competing - there are state, national and international championships.
Many of our members lost their sight later in life - and have had to adjust to both the emotional and practical impacts this brings. Being able to continue to play a sport they love, in the company of people who know what it's like too, has been a lifeline for many.
How we will use donated funds
We will use donations to help Western Australians living with blindness or vision impairment to be able to play golf and lead more rewarding and engaging lives.
- To expand the awareness of Blind Golf and its benefits
- To assist those who are interested in playing golf of all ages
- To underpin our playing programme including the annual WA Open.
