Dharma Care Inc

Yayasan Permakultur Kalimanta

The deforestation of traditional lands and the pollution of river systems have robbed indigenous Dayak communities in Kalimantan (Borneo) of both their food sources and their culture. This has produced extreme poverty and challenges for their unemployed young people.

Since 2016, Dharma Care has collaborated with and funded YPK’s Family Education, Recreation and Livelihood Sustainability Program. The project targets vulnerable and impoverished youth, families and farmers from rural regions of Central Kalimantan. It provides education and skills training in sustainable, nutrient rich organic farming and land management by promoting indigenous foods, and by providing recreational activities for local youth.
