There is so much richness here. We have a deep sense of history and culture, pride in our diversity, and access to entertainment, restaurants and parks by the bay - all whilst benefiting from being only a stone's throw away from the urban centre.

And yet we know that the prosperity spread across our suburb does not reach everyone in the same way.

Did you know...

• Glebe's two most common household incomes are above $4,500 per week and below $650 per week.
• The increasing cost of living impacts everyone. On average, households in NSW need to spend an additional $7,973 per year to buy the same items they did a year ago. In Glebe, 22% of households earn less than $799 per week. 4% of these households earn less than $149 per week.
• 12.3% of those in Glebe report a mental health condition, including depression or anxiety. This figure overshadows NSW (8%) and National (8.8%) rates.
• The 2021 health data shows that, compared to the City of Sydney, there is a higher proportion of people with a long-term health condition in Glebe (30.8% compared to 24.2% in the City of Sydney).

THE GLEBE YOUTH SERVICE

... has been balancing the odds for over 35 years. We are a place-based community organisation with a deep connection to those living in our neighbourhood. We work in partnership to support young people, families, and community members experiencing vulnerabilities.

Our staff bring lived and professional experience and offer a range of engagement and support programs, including First Nations program, food relief, transition to education, drop-in programs, casework, and referrals.

By supporting those in need, we can all come together to enjoy all that Glebe has to offer.

• Food Circle: Fresh, nutritious food for those experiencing vulnerability.
• Bungawarra: First Nations led programming for youth.
• After Dark and Teen Time: Creating safe spaces for engagement, community building and connection. Case work and Court Support Early intervention personal and family support.
• Middle Ground: Supporting year 5 and 6 students and their families, as part of their transition journey to high school.
