Karuna Sri Lanka Inc. supports underprivileged and orphaned children and young people in Sri Lanka. We are a registered Not-For-Profit Charity based in Australia with a constituted international Committee of 9 dedicated people - we are small, but have a big heart and we achieve meaningful results - but we need YOUR help.
Our President, Justin Peacock began his voluntary work and fundraising back in 2012. Since then, countless children have received support which has changed their lives for the better. Karuna Sri Lanka Inc. was formed in 2017 when Justin commenced sponsoring the orphanage where he had been volunteering. The charity has grown since then and so has the support we give.
We are now at the stage where our girls are attending training programs, University, studying for A levels and continuing to live in our SAFE HOUSE or Boarding houses. Our ongoing costs are increasing considerably therefore to continue our work and aims we need to increase our regular donor contributions.
OUR AIMS
Assisting orphanages/vulnerable children with food supplies, clothing and medical expenses/equipment.
Funding tertiery edication classes to assist children to expand their education and employment opportunities.
Provide financial support post orphanages/school by offering safe housing, further training/education, job security until independence is reached.
Assist a special needs orphanage with their renovation program to improve living conditions for children and adults.
Sponsor the cost of an extra day for a physiotherapist to attend Manacare Foundation - Hopes and Dreams Village.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Regular monthly donations would help us to plan our work and ensure its sustainability. All our Committee members give their time freely, including funding their own travel/hotel expenses when visiting Sri Lanka. Administration costs are paid by the Committee therefore EVERY DOLLAR DONATED reaches our children and young people.
One-off donations are also extremely welcome - we realise that times are tough across the world. If you decided to support our work, we send you our genuine gratitude as we know there are many charities you could chose from. To keep our donors up to date with our work we issue newsletters during the year and post regular Facebook updates
