About this cause

At NICA, our students devote their bodies, hearts, and futures to an art form that asks for everything. But financing basic living needs and access to essential training equipment can be barriers for many.

When you give to the NICA Student Hardship Fund, you become part of a story where your contribution, no matter its size, creates real, tangible change.

This fund not only supports essential training equipment but can also be allocated to help students meet basic needs such as rent, food, and medical expenses, so they can stay safe, healthy, and fully present in their full-time training.

  • Just $20 can provide the tape that protects a student’s wrists.

  • $80 pays for a health appointment, to prevent a niggle from becoming an injury.

  • $100 buys the acrobatic shoes that keep them safe.

  • $800 supports the ascent of a Corde Lisse artist.

  • $1,500 helps a hand-balancer rise to canes.

Your generosity doesn’t just fund appointments and equipment. It affirms a student's belief that they belong here, that their art matters, and that their community stands with them.

When you give to this fund, your intention becomes possibility, safety, artistry, and hope.

The National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) humbly acknowledges the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation as the traditional Custodians and knowledge-holders of the lands on which we create and, learn. We recognize that sovereignty has never been ceded, and we pay our deepest respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We extend our sincere acknowledgement to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, students, alumni, partners and visitors, who have contributed to NICA's success, diversity and growth.
