About this cause

There's no place like home...

Warrnambool & District Community Hospice was established to support home-based end of life care. We are pioneers of Hospice in the Home, a free community service, using specially trained volunteers to provide in-home support and respite to care-givers.

Since Hospice in the Home began in 2015, we have helped over 360 local people and their loved ones make the most of their final days together at home.  Around 60% (up 10%) have achieved their wish to die in comfortable and familiar surroundings, and most have been able to stay home longer because of the support they received.

In 2026, we begin our Compassionate Communities project where we want to bring greater awareness of local services, help more people in their homes, ensure our caring community have all the support they need and give our volunteers more opportunities to contribute.

As a free community service with no recurrent government funding, Warrnambool and District Community Hospice relies on your generosity and support.

Your gift will allow us to meet growing demand for our services and become involved earlier, to maximise benefits to people at the end of life and their care-givers.
