Your help is needed so that we can continue to take in every abused, lost, injured or abandoned animal brought to our shelter, and care for each one while we find them a loving home.
What do we do?
We take in hundreds of these animals each year, and depend on volunteers and funding from our five op shops, donations and bequests. We receive no government assistance. We are open 7 days a week and have found homes for thousands of animals over our 25 years.
As each animal arrives we provide immediate veterinary care as needed (we have our own clinic on-site), food, bedding and comfort. We actively try to match each one to a loving home. Because we are known for our efforts to avoid euthanasia for dogs except in the most unavoidable cases, we are often given the hardest-to-home ones (size, behaviour, health). We nurse and feed back to health where possible all the animals that come in sick and starving, give confidence to those that come in frightened, and socialisation and training when needed to become adoptable.
We are very active in the promotion of de-sexing and charge the lowest fee to the public as is possible.
