Established in 1982 as the alternative art school in South Australia for students seeking serious instruction in art, ACSA has grown to become an Institute of Higher Education with nearly 200 students in the accredited program.

We’ve come a long way over the last 40 years: starting from a large open space in Bloor Court, to gaining accreditation in Gilles Street, finding a beloved home in Norwood, and looking to expand at our current site in Glenside. All the while creating a supportive, safe space for emerging artists to develop and flourish.    

As we turn our sights to the future we are being bold and ambitious. We need your help to fund our plans to:

•             Create a world-class visual arts precinct at Glenside with additional teaching spaces, artist studios, artist residencies, increased facilities and services

•             Expand our scholarships program  

•             Enhance the graduate support program

•             Support the engagement and participation of First Nations people at the school.

Delivering a unique and high standard visual arts education and experience to our students will always be our main priority.
