About this cause

Established in 1982 as the alternative art school in South Australia for students seeking serious instruction in art, ACSA has grown to become an Institute of Higher Education with over 200 students in the accredited program.

We’ve come a long way over the last 40+ years: starting from a large open space in Bloor Court, to gaining accreditation in Gilles Street, finding a beloved home in Norwood, and now expanding at our current site in Glenside. All the while creating a supportive, safe space for emerging artists to develop and flourish.

Last year the school was successful in receiving Commonwealth funding to restore the Erindale Building on its Glenside campus.

This month we will commence the bulk of the redevelopment work due to be completed in early 2027. As we redevelop this key piece of infrastructure, we are seeking support to provide:

  • New arts programs including studio residencies in the restored Erindale building
  • $500 quick response grants for graduates to support their journey
  • $1,000 kick-start grants for graduates to continue to develop their arts practice
  • $2,500 fellowship awards to encourage ambitious undertakings that contribute to the artists’ development
  • Grants and Scholarships for students to enable them to fully engage in their studies and practice

All contributions are gratefully received. Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible, and support of $1,000 and over will be acknowledged as an ACSA Supporter.
