Australian Doctors International (ADI) is a not-for-profit development healthcare organisation working to improve the lives of people living in rural and remote communities of Papua New Guinea (PNG).
ADI specialises in deploying volunteer doctors and health managers to work in partnership with local government and church health providers to deliver clinical treatment and training, health management, community education and advocacy. Its flagship program is Integrated Rural Health Patrols.
Since 2002, ADI has deployed more than 34 volunteer doctors and 4 health managers on over 48 assignments to PNG's New Ireland Province and Western Province. Every year ADI's volunteers treat over 5,500 patients and conduct over 830 hours of clinical training for rural health workers and hospital staff.
ADI is based in Manly, Sydney with field offices in Kavieng and Kiunga, PNG. ADI relies on corporate sponsors, charitable trusts and private individuals to fund its health programs.
