About this cause

BE PART OF THE STORIES THAT MOVE US

Built in 1932, the SEC Substation at 10 Parry Street powered Fremantle’s electric trams for 20 years before becoming a museum called the World of Energy. Now the space is set to crackle and hum once more – this time with the words of storytellers from all walks of life and across all genres.

A HOME FOR FREMANTLE PRESS

Proudly not for profit, Fremantle Press is an independent publishing house looking to secure a place to call home by its 50th anniversary in April 2026.

Our vision for the next 50 years is to expand our impact by opening up Fremantle Press to its community and providing a creative hub for writers and booklovers. This new storytelling powerhouse will be a place where we share the value of reading, ensure that all Australians get to see themselves represented in books, and keep Western Australian culture alive by publishing important local stories.

Our power is in the stories we share. Join us by donating today.
