Link Vision has been established for 50 years and provides subsidised accommodation and educational services for people who are blind or who have Low Vision in Queensland, Australia. We are currently totally self funded through our five opportunity stores, generous donations and bequests.
Our aim is to enhance the lives of people with Low or No Vision through education and independent living.
What we do
Link Vision provides subsidised independent accommodation for people with No or Low Vision in the leafy Brisbane suburb of Fairfield. We also provide educational mentoring to young students with disabilities, predominantly vision. The education mentoring program helps the children learn to touch type so they are able to 'keep up' within a mainstream classroom setting. We provide this service to the students and schools free of charge as we feel passionately about creating the same learning opportunities for children with a disability to achieve as all children are able to.
How will the funds be used?
Donations will be used for the renovation and upgrade of our accommodation facility, and funding our Computer Club
Refurbishment of existing buildings and wages for Computer Club Mentors
