Albury Wodonga Regional Foodshare

Nourishing Foodshare

FoodShare’s Community Pantry program commenced almost a year ago in response to the impacts of the summer bushfires and the coronavirus pandemic to provide hampers to those experiencing financial hardship.

One hamper recipient was so grateful for the support she received from FoodShare that she started volunteering at the warehouse two days a week. “I wanted to return the favour and help others because the community wouldn’t be able to do without FoodShare” said Deanne.

FoodShare’s services are free and additional funding provides even more support for families like Deanne’s. A $20 donation provides someone experiencing hardship with a hamper and a $50 donation feeds a family.

Fast Facts:

We provide food equating to 1.55 million meals per year to over 24,000 people living in poverty across our region.

Over 1,000,000 kilograms of food was collected in 2020 from over 70 suppliers.

This is distributed to 225 regional agencies, educational institutions and community groups within a 150km radius of Albury-Wodonga who provide food relief to members of these communities living in poverty

We are almost entirely volunteer based with over 100 registered volunteers who work across the warehouse and administrative functions.
