About this cause

We support capacity building and are not a service delivery organisation.

We hold in-country training programs lasting from one week to four weeks with hospital and university partners in Fiji, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, Nepal and Myanmar.

Trainers are gastroenterologists and specialist nurses who work with doctors and nurses who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in gastroenterology and hepatology, particularly in endoscopy. All trainers provide their time pro bono and our organisation reimburses nurses all their expenses and some expenses for doctors.

We also support our partners’ units through the provision of equipment and materials necessary for training and on-going operations. These items are sourced as donations from industry and through purchases made possible by monetary donations and grants.

We are now making increasing use of digital technology apps to support on-going education, mentoring and support for the clinicians we work with.
