Australian Society for Performing Arts Healthcare (ASPAH)

Australian Society for Performing Arts Healthcare Appeal

The Australian Society for Performing Arts Healthcare (ASPAH) is the national peak body concerning itself with promoting health and wellbeing in the performing arts industry at all levels, from student to amateur to professional. ASPAH believes that the vitality of the arts within a society is wholly dependent on the wellbeing and health of its artists and arts industry workers, and that this wellbeing is critically important. As such, it serves the needs of four main groups of people: 1) artists themselves – musicians, dancers, actors, circus performers; 2) performing arts and healthcare educators – private, school, university; 3) healthcare practitioners – including doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, voice specialists, chiropractors, psychologists, alternative practitioners, and others; 4) performing arts technical and support crews.

In 2018 the ASPAH has committed to advance on the etablishment of the Paulette Mifsud Memorial Grant Program, from which ASPAH will allocate money to those who, on application, can show that their project furthers the cause of performing arts healthcare in a way ASPAH can reproduce and deploy to maximise the benefit across the country.

ASPAH is a not-for-profit, charitable organisation. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Note: If funds are received in excess of this project's costs, they will be used in other ways to directly advance ASPAH’s vision of creating a sustainable, healthy environment for the performing arts in Australia.
